Early Years (3-4 years)

At Drama Kids, we know every “first” matters. Our Early Years classes builds confidence across three terms, helping children grow in expression, speech, and creativity through purposeful drama-based play.

Classes run alongside local school terms, typically around 12-week. While we begin in autumn, children are welcome to join at any point in the year.

Core Skills:

Self-expression, listening, early speech development.

Classroom Experience:

Action songs, puppet play, and creative movement.

It all starts by helping little ones find their voice, grow in confidence and explore the world around them through imaginative play.

Over time, they develop key skills like storytelling, self-expression, and speech. At the end of the summer term, families are invited to see their child shine in a relaxed performance.

Autumn Term

We explore voice, build perspective, and develop confidence to express thoughtful ideas.

End of Term: Children begin to speak with more thought, care, and growing confidence, showing early signs of self-expression.

Spring Term

We deepen performance skills while stepping into creative leadership and collaboration.

Developing Core Skills

  • Narrative structure and message-driven work
  • Purposeful communication and expression
  • Group collaboration and creative ownership

In The Classroom

  • Script work and genre exploration
  • Role-play, character backstory, and mood setting
  • Collaborative devising and ensemble feedback
  • Improvisations that challenge and inspire

Confidence in Action

  • Leading rehearsals or directing scenes
  • Creating and refining original material
  • Stepping into roles of creative leadership

End of term: they begin stepping forward in activities and group moments, not because they’re asked to, but because they’re excited to take part.

Summer Term

Rehearsals and performance bring it all together, with real-world skills that go beyond the stage.

Developing Core Skills

  • Public speaking and confident performance
  • Responsibility, reliability, and resilience
  • Self-expression with stage presence and purpose

In the classroom

  • Full scripted production and rehearsal process
  • Blocking, choreography, and vocal projection
  • Creative risks in a supportive space
  • Reflective feedback and independent preparation

Confidence in Action

  • Delivering polished performances
  • Collaborating with maturity and focus
  • Speaking, acting, or presenting with presence

End of term: they don’t just take part; they shine, with growing confidence in their voice, space, and ideas.
